This section summarizes some preliminary observations about White Mage'sjob actions that were showcased during the Media Tour for Dawntrail. We will goover any action upgrades, introduce how new actions work, as well as providea basic overview of how the White Mage opener and rotation may change when Dawntrail releases.

As with any pre-release information, all of the information discussed belowis subject to change prior to the Patch 7.0 release date. More informationwill be provided when available.

Based on the information currently available at this time, we can summarizethe changes to White Mage under the following categories:

White Mage Current Action Changes

The observed changes to White Mage's current skill kit at Lv. 100 can be found below:

For all remaining enemies, the damage potency remains at 50% less than the first enemy.

1.4.

White Mage Opener and Rotation Changes

Please note: as with any job's opener or rotation, the actions you use dependon skill potencies and interactions with other players' buffs.You may see notable changes to the Opener or Rotation as we get closer to the expansion's release date.In addition, the potencies of each skill is always subject to change.
Use the information listed below as a basic guideline for how White Mage may play in Dawntrail:

  • With the addition of Aetherial Shift, White Mages will have more freedom of movement while they cast in fights.
    Because this is acquired at Lv. 40, low-level White Mages can also use this skill.
  • White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (19) Presence of Mind did not receive a duration change, and remains at 15s. However, it does grant a new buff called Sacred Sight, which enables you to use the new action, Glare IV.
    White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (20) Glare III does not directly upgrade to Glare IV. Glare IV can replace White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (21) Presence of Mind on your hotbar.
    Sacred Sight gives 3 stacks of Glare IV, which the player can execute within a 30s duration.
    Based on this information, we can assume that Glare IV stacks do not necessarily need to be used while under White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (22) Presence of Mind.
    However, because Glare IV has a stronger damage potency output than White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (23) Glare III (single-target) or White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (24) Holy III (AoE), players are advised to take advantage of Glare IV within damage buffs as much as possible.
  • Based on preliminary potency changes, White Mages should still prioritise White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (25) Afflatus Misery as their strongest damage spell in both single-target and AoE situations, as well as maximizing under damage buffs.
  • Both Glare IV and White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (26) Afflatus Misery are instant cast spells.
    As such, players may opt to hold the actions for movement during burst windows.
    For the best damage output, these actions should be used before raid buffs or Sacred Sight stacks expire.
  • Many of White Mage's job actions received a potency increase. This is not expected to change the general rotation much.
    However, since White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (27) Medica II received a direct upgrade to Medica III, players will get to enjoy a new animation, on top of the cure potency increases, upon using the spell.
  • White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (28) Temperance received a new additional effect called Divine Grace, which enables players to use the new ability Divine Caress.
    This new ability provides a barrier to all players within range for a short period of time. Afterwards, when the barrier fades, players will receive a regen effect, healing their HP.
    This is an excellent addition to White Mage's mitigation kit, as players only had a few previous options like White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (29) Temperance, White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (30) Divine Benison, White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (31) Aquaveil, or White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (32) Asylum.
    Notably, White Mage's previous options did not provide both a shield and a heal upon use. However, Divine Caress does.
  • In addition, Divine Caress is an ability, which enables players to use other spells (such as White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (33) Dia, White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (34) Glare III, or Glare IV) and weave Divine Caress before they can recast their GCD.
    As the Divine Grace buff is 30s long, you will only be able to cast Divine Caress either:
    • Within the first 20s of Divine Grace, while White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (35) Temperance is active, or
    • Within the last 10s, after White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (36) Temperance expires.

    This allows players to stack both mitigations for heavy-hitting raidwides, or save Divine Caress for mitigating subsequent damage in the remaining time available for Divine Grace.

White Mage Job Actions in Dawntrail

This section showcases some of the new actions and changes previewed in the DawntrailJob Action Trailer for White Mage in 7.0. The actual job changes inDawntrail may be different from what is shown below.

Additional details about job changes were revealed in the Letter from theProducer Live, Part 81:

  • For all healers, the recast timer for White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (38) Swiftcast will be reducedfrom 60 to 40 seconds when your job level is in the 90s Level range.
  • For White Mage, as the level cap is raised, the job will see new additionsto their repertoire of healing and damage actions.
  • There will also be a new trait that will allow forWhite Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (39) Tetragrammaton to have multiple charges, in addition toother minor changes not mentioned.

3.

White Mage Action Changes Throughout Endwalker

White Mage received several changes throughout the Endwalker patch cycles.Overall, most of White Mage's actions had a quality of life improvement,or had their potencies balanced with other jobs. However, the most notableadjustment for the White Mage rotation was reducing the recast time onWhite Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (40) Secret of the Lily, as this enabled players to cast anWhite Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (41) Afflatus Misery every minute. As well, since Patch 6.2, allhealers also have lower enmity generation overall. This is because the HPrestoration over time effect no longer generates enmity with each tick ofhealing. However, the initial execution of these actions will still generateenmity.

White Mage Spell Changes in Patch 6.0

In Endwalker, White Mage gains upgrades to its damaging spells and new toolsto help keep the party alive. It now has strong external mitigation abilitieswith a second charge of Divine Benison and a new defensive. Its capstone actionplaces a heart totem on the ground, healing the entire party whenever they takedamage.

Changes to White Mage Abilities

  1. White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (78) Presence of Mind recast time changed from 150 seconds to120 seconds.
  2. White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (79) Thin Air no longer decreases MP cost of all actions by 100%.Instead, this ability now has two charges and allows the player to execute the nextaction without MP cost. Its recast time has changed from 120 to 60seconds.
  3. White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (80) Divine Benison now has two maximum charges.

5.2.

New White Mage Abilities

  1. White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (81) Aquaveil reduces damage taken by a party member of selfby 15% for 8 seconds.
  2. White Mage Job Changes and Updates - Dawntrail 7.0 (82) Liturgy of the Bell places a healing blossom at the designatedlocation and grants 5 stacks of Liturgy of the Bell to self with a duration of 15seconds. Taking damage will expend 1 stack of Liturgy of the Bell to heal selfand all party members within a radius of 20 yalms. This heal will have a potencyof 400. The effect of this action can only be triggered once per second. The healingblossom dissipates when all stacks are expended or the effect expires. Any remainingstacks of Liturgy of the Bell when effect expires will trigger an additional healingeffect. The potency of the ending heal is 200 for every remaining stack ofLiturgy of the Bell. This action does not share a recast timer with any other actions.
