Basic Information on How to Draw a Snake

- Draw the outline of the snake’s head.
You should draw an arbitrary figure that looks a bit like a deformed oval. This will be the head of the snake.
- Depict the eyes of the serpent.
Sketch out two ovals inside the previously drawn figure. It is thanks to the large, far-set eyes and tickled face that this snake looks cute and cartoonish.
- Add the serpent’s mouth.
Below the previously drawn eyes, add one wavy line. Try to replicate the outline of the mouth as accurately as possible.
- Draw the tongue of the snake.
Use curved lines of varying lengths to depict the tongue with two pointed ends. Because of the smiling mouth, even this formidable tongue does not make the snake menacing
- Add the body part of the serpent.
Below the snake’s head, add two curved lines of different lengths. Please note that the snake’s body thickens as it moves away from the head.
- Depict another part of the body.
Now sketch out two more curved lines on the left side. The fact that this snake’s body is slightly thicker than usual gives it a more childish appearance.
- Draw the snake’s tail.
To complete the drawing of the torso, add another long, curved line. In this part, the snake’s body again becomes noticeably thinner.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Use the eraser to remove any unnecessary guidelines. In addition, you can outline your snake drawing or add details such as scales or nostrils.
- Color the snake drawing.
To color this snake, you should use black, pink and green. These are the most popular colors for a serpent, but you can of course use any other colors including black and white.
